This is really kick ass, from afar it looked like you drew this on the computer. I like to collage the buildings of Houston myself. Really cool!

if you focused on the base of the building, there would be indigent street people there asking for money for coffee which they would inadvertently spend on booze.

Yes, people in the window. Actually, I sketched this before dark, then inked it EARLY in the morning, way before sunrise. I kept waiting for the lights to turn on so I could see what was in the rooms. Turns out it is a closed down building. I drew people anyway.
